Love and Strawberries

Back in 2005, I shot this picture for a story about the Seduction Cookbook by Diane Brown..and it was purely romantic impulse that brought me to light it and shoot it this way.  The recipe was sensual and vibrant and desired some ambiance.  Make this simple and sexy recipe for someone you love this weekend…Happy Valentines Day!

Stuffed Strawberries

From ‘The Seduction Cookbook’

Ingredients

12 large ripe strawberries, rinsed and dried

4 ounces mascarpone cheese

1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar

2 drops vanilla extract

2 tablespoons grated dark (semisweet or bittersweet) chocolate

Preparation

1.With a paring knife remove hull and inner core of each berry to form a cavity. Remove meat of the berry from the hull. Save stem and hull.

2.In a small bowl mix together cheese, sugar, vanilla and chocolate. Using a small spoon, stuff mixture into cavity of each berry. Top berries with hulls. Serve cold.

12 strawberries (2 to 4 servings, depending on berry size)

  6. One of my favorite ways to eat strawberries is with sour cream and brown sugar. Dip it in the cream and roll it in the sugar. Nom.

  7. These indeed look delicious.
My lady and I love strawberries.
She even suggested a glass of champagne to go with them. Great idea.
    Thank you for sharing.

Those strawberries look delicious. I will definitely have to try it sometime.

  11. Love the strawberries……forgive me and don’t think I’m rude but I think if you want to dress it up even more use some eatable gold leaf over the top then press the green stem/hull on top. That would be great as Honeymoon or lovers trip waiting in the room with champagne….. sorry get carried away sometimes…lol…your photo is beautiful!

    • Oh dear, I should have read more about you on your site before I opened mouth and inserted my foot…lol….I wouldn’t make a suggestion to a professional. I had been up for over 24 hours watching our snow storm and got dreamy eyed at those strawberries! Thank you! Boy, I’m sipping a cup of mocha coffee and those berries look even better now…….hmmm!

      • No worries..I think your suggestions are good ones…just that the recipe did not call for such extravagances…would make a nice picture though. Enjoy that coffee…sounds good.

  22. Did it! Loved it! Thanks for the recipe! Although, I did substitute cream cheese for the marscipone, added a dash or two of fresh lemon juice, dipped the berries in Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet chocolate and sprinkled them with toasted, unsweetened coconut. Heavenly. :)

Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Mr. Scrivani! Gloris
